Common Questions

What People Are Asking Us

Are you unsure what is the right training method for you and your pet? Hopefully these frequently asked questions will give you the information that you need to better understand the world of pet training.

Which of your services is right for me?

It depends. Do you like to learn in group settings and your dog just needs better manners or enrichment? Then a class would be great for you. If you are looking to remedy behavioral problems, private one on one training is usually a better option to address the issue head on. Our Day Training option is great for addressing improving general manners or life skills.

Is my pet too old to be trained?

Old dogs can learn new tricks! And any new behaviors we want them to learn. Sometimes we need them to "unlearn" behaviors that they find successful, but they can always learn better behaviors.

What is your approach to pet training?

We first look at antecedent arrangement, or changing the environment to help the dog be successful. Then we manipulate the consequences that keep the behavior from happening or reinforce the desired behavior, beginning with positive reinforcement for behaviors we want to increase.

Do you work on severe behavior problems?

Yes, our Owner's journey started with a resource guarding, biting Jindo, and we know how difficult it can be to live with dogs with severe behavioral problems. Start by contacting us via email or phone and we can set up an appointment.

What if I need a refund?

Refunds are issued on a case by case basis.  Refunds are issued minus a processing  fee, dependent on the cost of the refund.

We have an appointment but I'm sick!

Please call or email us to reschedule. There is no penalty for rescheduling. Our trainers would like to remain healthy, and training can be challenging when you don't feel 100%.

Do you have a recommended harness (or leash, or puzzle toys?)

Yes! In over a decade of training, we have accrued quite a few recommendations for clients. You can find our recommendations here.
