Jennifer M. Lowe Davis, J.D., CPDT-KA
Owner and Head Trainer
Jennifer Lowe Davis, J.D. CPDT-KA, Owner and Head Trainer, strives to provide effective training methods that strengthen the bond between humans and their canine companions.
Jennifer is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Simmons College.
Jennifer has trained dogs in the D.C. area for over a decade. Before opening Red Dog Run Training, she spent 10 years as a Senior Trainer for KissAble Canine, where she ran classes and managed cases ranging from life skills for new puppies to severe aggression and anxiety cases.
Prior to joining KissAble Canine, she was on staff of a local rescue, conducting intake of dogs from shelters and overseeing the dog foster program.
She received extensive training at Peaceable Paws Behavior and Training Academy. She also attends seminars and classes to continue her education with renowned trainers and scientists such as Sue Sternberg, Susan Friedman and Kathy Sdao. She is particularly interested in canine aggression and reactivity.
She is Certified through the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers. She is a Member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator with the American Kennel Club.
Her interest in training was sparked when she adopted Rudy, a 5 year old Jindo from the Arlington Shelter. Almost immediately, Rudy began displaying guarding of items and locations. She continued to explore behavior modification training after adopting her next dogs, Butters, a Beagle mix with thunderstorm phobia and Brynn, who was anxious about any visitors to the home and strange dogs on walks. They pushed her to learn more about training and behavior modification. This journey has served to make her incredibly empathetic to clients struggling with dogs with behavior problems.
When not training, she spends her time with her family, husband Mike and daughter Elanora in Clifton, Virginia. She is the Membership Chair for the Clifton Betterment Association and a Board Member of Pompe Alliance. She enjoys working with her dog Zora, a rescue border collie.
