As a student of dog behavior, I find all dog behavior and history interesting, even if they aren't companions in our home. Delving into the origins of different dog breeds can sometimes provide some insights into the behaviors and characteristics we observe in our four-legged companions, and sometimes, it is just fascinating information.
The research detailed in the scientific article, https://www.sci.news/biology/dingo-origins-13277.html , delves into the genetic ancestry of Dingoes, finding an evolutionary link to dogs from a dog like animal in East Asia. They found some remains that were over 3000 years old. I think anyone who has had an fiercely independent Asian breed such as a Jindo or Shiba-Inu are nodding their heads right now! Our first dog was a 6 year old Jindo who was picked up as a stray. I thought I knew a lot of about dogs, but Rudy taught me differently!
