4. Clean Up Accidents Thoroughly (Without Scolding): Accidents happen! If you find a mess inside, clean it up immediately and thoroughly with an enzymatic cleaner. This type of cleaner eliminates the odor, which can attract your dog back to the same spot. Avoid scolding or punishing your dog for accidents. They don’t understand and it can create fear and apprehension, making housetraining harder. Simply clean it up and resolve to be more vigilant next time.
